When you pick up your campervan in New Zealand, you will need to have a couple of documents with you. In some cases, the required documents may be different based on which company you've hired your campervan with. It is always best to check the terms and conditions of your rental.
You will need to take a credit card to cover the security bond. The credit card holder must be present in order to sign the paperwork. In some cases, if the renter has not purchased vehicle protection products, the security bond may be a higher amount. Generally, Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards are accepted, but policies may be different between campervan rental companies.
The renter will need to present a valid driver's licence upon collection of the vehicle. If the licence is not printed in English, you may also need an International Driving Permit to serve as a translation.
