Raglan
Just a short drive west of Hamilton is Raglan beach. This a surfside community with a big focus on the creative and artistic lifestyle. Check out the Raglan website, they even keep a Friday afternoon local surfing update!

Hillcrest Beach
This beach is located in the backblocks of Hillcrest, near the river. From Cobham drive, drive your rental car to Howell Ave, then Louise Pl, right off Louise St onto Malcolm. There are good jumping spots here! It's also apparently cleaner water due to being upstream of most of Hamilton. A nice big bend in the river offers plenty of swimming space without too much current (Hamilton River, above).

Wellington St Beach

Memorial Park
There are plenty of lush, tall trees here, plus interesting and exotic birds with free viewing. Offeres a children's playground, river walks and a departure point for Waipa Delta Riverboat.

Rotoroa Lake

Hamilton Gardens
Around about 20 gardens, themed in various world cultures. Visit the recently renovated glass houses between 10am and 4pm most days.
